Mamaroneck Self Storage Approved for Solar Shingles

Mamaroneck Village Board of Architectural Review approved the installation of Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingles on Mamaroneck Self Storage.

By unanimous decision and with great enthusiasm the village BAR members expressed appreciation for the solar shingles' aesthetic value, while providing up to 25% of the building's power usage. According to Dow Solar, this will be the first commercial application of the Dow Powerhouse in the tri-state area.

According to building architect Kim Martelli, "Dow solar shingles will be woven and integrated with a high definition architectural asphalt roof shingles to craft a seamless look, as the energy-efficient roof itself."

The Murphy brothers are working with NYSERDA and Steven Winter Associates to make building's attractive design both environmentally responsible and energy efficient.
