Mamaroneck Self-Storage Celebrates Their "Topping Out"

In keeping with a long-time construction industry tradition, Murphy Brothers, Sean & Chris hosted their "Topping Out" Ceremony to celebrate the last structural beam being installed on Mamaroneck Self-Storage, and the halfway point in the construction of their 40,000 sf building, designed by area architect, Kim Martelli. As is customary, the last beam was signed by all the construction workers and the people involved in the building, then raised and set in place forever -hopefully. An American flag and an evergreen tree were also placed on top of the structure as part of the tradition, while a lone trumpeter played "God Bless America".

John Ravitz, Chief Operating Officer of the Business Council of Westchester, acting as MC said, "It's amazing to think we were just here in September for the groundbreaking! The Business Council is proud to be affiliated with the Murphy Brothers. This facility is going to be a game-changer in this part of the county." Representing the County Executive's Office, Director of Economic Development, Bill Mooney added, "On behalf of County Executive Rob Astorino, the County is thrilled to have partnered with Murphy Brothers on this project, and we thank you for generating jobs in Westchester and helping to make our county the special place it is to live and work." Sean Murphy noted that Murphy Brothers Contracting "...is working with the County IDA on this project as well as with NYSERDA and Steven Winter Associates to incorporate energy efficient upgrades making this a green construction project, the first commercial project in the tri-state area to feature DOW Powerhouse solar roof shingles."

Also on hand were several luminaries in the self-storage business community, Paul Ferraro, COO and Peter Ferraro Sr., CEO of Gold Key Management and Consulting,Henry J. Tracz, Sr. President and Henry J Tracz III Vice President of Northeast Marketing Company, LLC representing BETCO INC and Joseph Miller, Partner, Miller & Lee LLP, along with many local government officials, business leaders and village notables, showing their support for the project and wishing the Murphy Brothers well.
